			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Coalition of Hispanics Integrating Spanish Speakers through Advocacy and Service (CHISPAS) is proud to announce applications for the 2010 Alternative Spring Break Trip. Participants will be immersing themselves into two migrant communities including Jupiter, FL., characterized by Guatemalan and other indigenous Central American migrants who work in landscaping and construction, and Immokalee, FL., characterized by Mexican, Haitian and other Central American migrants who work as agricultural workers in tomato fields.<br />
Service projects will center around the themes of law, health and education including know your rights presentations, health forums, pesticide awareness, English as a Second Language classes, etc. An informational session will be held November 17 at 7 p.m. in the Institute of Hispanic-Latino Cultures. There are two leadership positions per trip, and there are several volunteer positions. An information session will be held on Tuesday. Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in FLG 210. Please come learn more about this exciting opportunity.<br />

Participants work to implement a variety of projects to assist those living in extreme poverty. These include a Dental Hygiene Campaign, Clean Water Initiative, Prenatal Health Program, and Renovation Projects at local orphanages and schools. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Each summer, Recurso organizes an international service trip to take 24 students at the University of Florida to Nicaragua. Participants work to implement a variety of projects to assist those living in extreme poverty. These include a Dental Hygiene Campaign, Clean Water Initiative, Prenatal Health Program, and Renovation Projects at local orphanages and schools. Members also take time to travel the country and gain a better understanding of the culture and beauty of Nicaragua.</p>
<p>Recurso will hold an information session on Thursday, November 5  at 6:30 p.m. in J. Wayne Reitz Union room 278. Students of all majors are welcome, and past participants will be there to answer any questions you may have.</p>
<p>Applications are now available on our Web site http://recursouf.wordpress.com and should be submitted by December 2, 2009.</p>
