Leadership Opportunity with Ambassadors of Civility and Ethics

The Ambassadors of Civility and Ethics, more affectionately known as ACE, is a student organization affiliated with the Dean of Students Office. Their purpose is to ensure that all students have an opportunity to know their rights and responsibilities as designated by the University of Florida code of conduct and code of honor.

ACE is currently seeking new members to help promote a strong code of ethics in the UF community.

CHISPAS Alternative Spring Break

The Coalition of Hispanics Integrating Spanish Speakers through Advocacy and Service (CHISPAS) is proud to announce applications for the 2010 Alternative Spring Break Trip. Participants will be immersing themselves into two migrant communities including Jupiter, FL., characterized by Guatemalan and other indigenous Central American migrants who work in landscaping and construction, and Immokalee, FL., characterized by Mexican, Haitian and other Central American migrants who work as agricultural workers in tomato fields.
Service projects will center around the themes of law, health and education including know your rights presentations, health forums, pesticide awareness, English as a Second Language classes, etc. An informational session will be held November 17 at 7 p.m. in the Institute of Hispanic-Latino Cultures. Art of Leadership

Art of Leadership (AOL) is a half day conference designed to educate, develop, and inspire strong leaders at the University of Florida and beyond. Conference topics range from organizational skills and servant leadership, finding your passion, etc. Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, the Place You’ll Go” will be used to emphasize leadership as a
journey. Also they will incorporate other works from him to highlight leadership traits.

AOL is organized by Lead101 and this year, the AOL conference will be on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the J. Wayne Reitz Union Grand Ballroom. The keynote speaker is Patricia Telles-Irvin.

Crossing Borders Service Trip

Children Beyond Our Borders is now accepting applications for their Crossing Borders 2010 service trips to Medellin and Cartagena, Colombia. There are two leadership positions per trip, and there are several volunteer positions. HHP in Italy

The Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management is pleased to offer a 3 credit hour study abroad course in Spring 2009 titled, “International Sport Management Topics in Italy” (LEI 4955).

Students will travel to Rome and Milan, Italy March 5-13, 2010 (UF Spring Break). Instruction will be provided through lectures by UF faculty and local officials from sport venues and sport organizations.
