Student Members for University Committees

The University of Florida encourages student involvement through participation and membership on committees that advise the administration on important issues. A list of committees can be found on the Provost’s website at http://www.aa.ufl.edu/committees/#presidential

If you are interested in being considered for an appointment to a university committee complete the online application at the following website: http://www.dso.ufl.edu/vpsa/

Students eligible to serve on university committees will be selected from this pool of applicants. Vacancies on committees that occur during the year will be filled from this pool of applicants. The deadline for application is Friday, June 13, 2008.

Research with InvestiGators

There are currently research positions being offered with the InvestiGators, dealing with nutrition and metabolism. The InvestiGators are a research group comprised of students from various disciplines who are interested in meaningful research. The group is under the direction of Dr. Peggy Borum. InvestiGators is made up of three teams: the Carnitine Team (research dealing with an amino acid derivative involved in metabolism), the KetoGator Team (pediatric epilepsy research) and the Gator Team (pediatric HIV research).

UF in Darmstadt program

The UF in Darmstadt program offers students a very affordable opportunity to earn three credits studying abroad in Germany. Students will spend fourteen days (June 18-July 2,2008) studying with faculty and students at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. From May 12th to 16th, SFA’s beginning-of-term office hours will be 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. M-F. Switchboard hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Students should go to ISIS (www.isis.ufl.edu) under “Financial Aid” to check their summer “Aid Status” and be sure they have completed all steps to ensure proper disbursement of aid, including loans.
