Free HIV Testing for UF Students

In honor of World AIDS Day 2009, Eta Sigma Gamma, GatorWell, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars teamed up to offer free HIV testing to UF students. The tests are free, by appointment only, and will take place December 1, from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. in the Florida Gym. Call 392-1161 x4281 today to schedule your free HIV test. Gator Swim and Dive vs. FSU

Gator Swimming and Diving takes on in-state rival FSU at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24. Fans can enter at Gate 2 of the O’Connell Center and admission is free. Register to become a member of the Splash Squad, the official fan club of Florida Swimming and Diving, and receive a t-shirt at the meet. Visit GatorZone.com to register. Free Diabetes Screening during Diabetes Awareness Month

The UF Diabetes Center of Excellence, Healthy Gators 2010 and other campus organizations will shine blue in honor of World Diabetes Day and host Diabetes Awareness Month.

There will be events for the entire UF community throughout November including free screenings Nov. 10-13. There will also be a Century Tower Lighting Ceremony Nov. 13 in honor of World Diabetes Day, where the first 100 guests will receive a blue event T-shirt. Guest speakers include Chris Machen, Mayor Pegeen Hanrahan, state Rep. Chuck Chestnut and Medical Director Desmond Schatz.

Intramural Track Meet

The 2009 Intramural Track Meet will take place on Thursday, November 5. To register a team for the 2009 Intramural Track Meet, participants must fill out the PDF form located at the RecSports
Web site: http://www.recsports.ufl.edu/track_meet1.aspx and turn it into SWRC Room 120 by 5 p.m. Monday, November 2.
The Captain’s Meeting for the 2009 Track Meet will be held on Monday, November 2 at 7 p.m. at the Southwest Recreation Center Conference Room. Participants can choose from the following 8 track events:
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 4×100 and 4×200 relay. In addition, participants can participate in 4 field events, including: Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, and Shot-Put.

Gator Volleyball

The next Gator volleyball game is Friday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. vs. Georgia in the O’Connell Center.

The 1st 200 UF students receive free pizza. Students can also sign-up to win prizes. The doors open at 6 p.m.

The 1st 500 fans receive Croakie-like Gator Sunglass Cords.

UF Intramural Volleyball teams can RSVP to take part in the half-time contest to win prizes, including cash. If your team would like to sign up, please email MeghanFi@gators.uaa.ufl.edu to participate.

The Gator Swimming and Diving teams open their home season versus the Georgia Bulldogs on Friday, October 30 at 1 p.m. in the O’Connell Center pool. Fans can enter through Gate 2 and admission is free. The first 250 fans at the match will receive a “Beat Georgia” t-shirt and can enter to win tickets to the Florida-Georgia football game.
