The University of Florida’s Dairy Unit invites you to the 2020 Family Day at the Dairy Farm to be held this year on Saturday March 28, at the University of Florida Dairy Unit near Gainesville!
This now annual event is an Open House for the general public to come visit a working dairy farm presented by University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, with support from Florida Dairy Farmers.
This will be the 7th Family Day at the Dairy Farm. We have about 20 stations with educational information, staffed by professors, graduate students and volunteers. In 2019 we had about 2000 visitors.
Join us for a fun-filled, educational experience. See a working dairy farm. Learn where milk comes from. Meet researchers and veterinarians who work to improve Florida’s dairy production, animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
Admission for the public is free.  Please wear closed-toe shoes. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No pets please. Note that this even is weather-dependent, we will have to cancel the event in case the grounds are very wet.
