Theft and Loss Prevention for Laptops

Filed under Administrative, Information Tech on September 24, 2019.

While spending hours studying at the library, students often leave their laptops unattended when they pick up a coffee or meet a friend. Even if you’re only away for a few minutes, a thief still has enough time to steal your device. FrontDoorSoftware Laptop Loss and Recovery is a free program available to all UF students, courtesy of the UF Police Department. With this program, students can control and protect their laptops from their smartphones.

The software allows you to track, lock, and alarm your laptop remotely in case it’s stolen. Here is where you can find the steps on how to download the program to your Windows PC or Mac computer. Stay cautious, Gators!
