Join the University of Florida for the MLK Celebration with events running from Jan. 10 through 25.

  • January 10 – MLK Opening Ceremony featuring Jeraldine Williams at 10 a.m. in the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom. This event is sponsored by UF Multicultural and Diversity Affairs and the Center for Gender, Sexualities, and Women’s Studies Research.
  • January 10 – Celebrating 50 years of African American Studies with the Power of Spoken Word at 6:30 p.m. in the Harn Museum Auditorium. This event is sponsored by African American Studies Program.
  • January 16 – A Conversation with Ron Stallworth at 6:30 p.m. in the Reitz Union Rion Ballroom. This event is sponsored by the Reitz Union Programming Board and the Black Graduate Student Organization.
  • January 18 – Film Maestra at 7 p.m. in Ustler Hall. The event is sponsored by Center for Latin American Studies.
  • January 21 – MLK Day of Service from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Reitz Union Rion Ballroom. The event is sponsored by the David and Wanda Brown Center for Leadership and Service.
  • January 25 – Interfaith Friendship Service: “Towards Oneness. Towards Peace” at 7 p.m. in the Gainesville Baha’i Center. This event is sponsored by the Spiritual Assembly of Baha’is of Gainesville.
