(Re)writing History: Spoken Word Event for Asian Kaleidoscope Month

Filed under Cultural, Events on October 22, 2018.

Come hear the stories of our community as they highlight what it means to be Asian American and the defining moments that led to who they are today.  Through the mediums of poetry and oral testimony, this event will showcase the lived experiences of the surrounding Asian American community and bring sensitive topics to light. These topics include identity, intersectionality, personal traumas, and so much more. Although these issues and topics may be jarring at first, but they will provide the exposure necessary to promote visibility and discussion within these areas of concern. The event will be Wednesday, October 24 at Ustler Hall.  Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event will begin at 6:45.  More details can be found https://www.facebook.com/events/459220437932379/
