Has Your Personal or UF Email Been Compromised?

It’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month! It’s a good time to use the tools that can help keep you and your information safe online. Have you tried Have I Been Pawned?, a free resource that allows you to check whether email has turned up in a data hack? Enter your email address and immediately find out if your account is now or has ever been at risk.

Additionally, UFIT provides several ways for you to keep your personal information… personal.

  • The IT alerts website keeps you informed about the latest email threats and phishing scams. If you are ever unsure about whether an email is a scam, head to alerts.it.ufl.edu to check for current phishing scams
  • The UF Computing Help Desk provides secure media disposal to all students, faculty, and staff. Bring your old cell phones, flash drives, and CDs to be shredded and thrown out in a secure, sustainable way. This prevents private information from being stolen or exposed
  • UFIT offers training courses about maintaining your security and privacy. You can read through all of the tips and tricks at your leisure.
