Gates Cambridge Scholarship Information Session

Join UF alumnus and 2006 Gates Scholar Justin Bangs for an information session this Friday, April 13 at 10:40 a.m. in Pugh Hall 120. The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is a full scholarship for graduate study (Masters or Ph.D.) at the University of Cambridge. In addition to outstanding academic achievement the program places emphasis on social leadership in its selection process as the mission of the program is to create a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others. Recent Gates Scholars from UF include Grant Simpson (2017), Yevgen Sautin (2016), and Juan Serrano (2015).

Justin will present on the Gates Cambridge Scholarship and answer questions about the application and interview process and graduate study in the UK. UF’s fellowships advisor Regan Garner will also be available to answer questions about preparing to apply for other prestigious scholarships.

Justin Bangs is a 2006 graduate of UF, where he studied Political Science, with Minors in History and Women’s Studies. While at UF he received the Udall and Gates Cambridge Scholarships. He completed an MPhil in Environmental Policy at the University of Cambridge. Justin began his career in consulting, working on environmental and public health policy in Washington, DC. He later transitioned to work in international education developing and leading study abroad and internship programs for students in the UK, China, Japan, and Vietnam. In 2013, Justin served on the Gates Cambridge selection panel.
