Park ranger turned environmental writer Jordan Fisher Smith will speak on “Endangered Species, Endangered Truth: A Park Ranger’s Perspective,” at Smathers Library 100 on the UF campus Tuesday evening Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. The author of award-winning Engineering Eden: The True Story of a Violent Death, a Trial and the Fight Over Controlling Nature, Jordan will discuss the ecological changes underway in our national parks, and how we share scientific knowledge on climate change and other pressures in an era of alternative facts. Jordan’s visit is sponsored by UF’s departments of History and Journalism, Center for Humanities and the Public Sphere Rothman Endowment and George A. Smathers Libraries. Admission is free.
