10 Out of 12

The Constans Theatre itself becomes the setting for this highly imaginative glimpse at how theatre makes its magic. This new comedy by the author of The Electric Mr. Burns immerses the audience in the middle of episodes from 10 out of 12-hour technical rehearsals of a new play, allowing it to eavesdrop on backstage conversations over headsets as the actors and production team try to manage their personal and professional lives. New York Magazine called 10 Out of 12 “Exceptionally funny and moving,” and the New York Times found it “a wholly original love song to the maddening art of the theater.” Performances will be held in the Constans Theatre of the Nadine M. McGuire Theatre and Dance Pavilion on UF’s campus Thursday, July 20 – Saturday, July 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 23 at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $13 for students to $18 for the public. Tickets are available through the University Box Office, by calling 352-392-1653 or at ticketmaster.com. More information is available at www.arts.ufl.edu.
