Cyber Security

Filed under Administrative, Information Tech on June 5, 2017.

Your age, address, personal photos, relationship status, and hobbies are available to anyone who does an online search. Some of your favorite social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, gather personal information about you and build profiles based on your clicks and searches. Data brokers collect information from social media accounts, as well as public records and online transactions. As a result, your personal information is available on the web… and there is always someone willing to pay for it. Companies have access to your likes, dislikes, closest friends, and web browsing history. That’s why it’s important to learn ways to keep your information safe.  What can you do? Sign up for the free July 13 Cyber Security @ UF workshop and learn to protect your privacy, as well as your credit rating, from cyber thieves.
