A UF Doctor and A Multiplatinum Rapper Partner to Promote Diversity and Unity

Recent PhD graduate, Micah Johnson, and Multiplatinum Recording Artist, Pastor Troy, have partnered with several community and student organizations to plan a unity event/charity concert entitle THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS to be held on APRIL 28TH 2017 at 10:00pm EST at the Wooly:  20 N Main St, Gainesville, FL 32601
The event is sponsored by Friendly Neighbors, a student-run 501c3 nonprofit organization that aims to foster unity and empower disadvantaged communities. The organization says, “We are just regular people trying to make a positive impact. We are proud to operate primarily by the support of everyday people with limited resources but who have a wealth of kindness”.
Dr. Micah E. Johnson –Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Epidemiology and Friendly Neighbor member– said, “many of our community members and neighbors feel that our community is becoming increasingly more segregated, isolated, and divided. Unity and appreciation for diversity of backgrounds, features, ideas, talents, traditions, expression, etc. needs to be celebrated and promoted. Join us in the name of unity, charity and good times.”
Friendly Neighbors is calling for: (1) partners and sponsors and (2) advertising support. Please contact them immediately if you are interested in joining or supporting their cause. Friendly Neighbors: “We request that you please provide coverage of this event at the greatest extent possible. Please help propagate this worthy cause and demonstrate your support via endorsing and publicizing this initiative”.
