Now that the spring semester is solidly underway, you can think about learning a new skill outside of your classes.  Do it with lynda.com. Lynda.com is an online training library, with more than 5,000 courses. The best thing about using lynda is that you don’t have to sit through two hours of a video – if you need to learn just one new trick in Excel or WordPress, you can watch JUST that section of video.  Easy peasy!  There are training videos on topics ranging from resume creation to Excel, Python, Adobe, and app development. UFIT provides Lynda.com accounts FREE for all students. The most popular videos watched by UF in 2016 were Office 365 for Mac: Word Essential Training, Foundations of Programming: Fundamentals, Excel 2016, and SPSS Statistics Essential Training.   Could your resume use a boost?  Need to learn some basic HTML so you can snag that great first job? If so, visit https://training.it.ufl.edu/, scroll down midway on the page, and click on the lynda.com logo. Lynda memberships are $20-$30/month, but you can get this resource for FREE  while you’re at UF.  Start learning something new!
