Florida Alternative Breaks: Farmworkers Rights

Filed under Opportunities, Service on January 2, 2017.

Are you looking for something fun to do after Winter Break? Join Florida Alternative Breaks (FAB) for a service trip for Farmworkers Rights during MLK Weekend (January 13-16)! The trip focuses on the rights and education for Florida’s farmworkers in Pierson, Florida where they will work with the Florida Association of Farmworkers Rights Hope Community Center. This trip is all inclusive: housing, food, t-shirt and service for the weekend for only $90.

Hope Community Center is a service learning community dedicated to the empowerment of Central Florida’s immigrant and working poor communities through Education, Advocacy and Spiritual Growth. Students will work in the field and get to know the community to establish a connection. Students will become allies of support with the community and learn the policies and programs that have been established to protect them.

To sign up for a FAB trip, please visit the Center for Leadership and Service on the second floor of the Reitz.  Visit FAB’s website or email questions to floridaalternativebreaks@gmail.com

Any further questions can go to the site-leaders for the trip
