Student Health Interdisciplinary Program (SHIP) is a community outreach program with the mission of bringing undergraduate and graduate students, from various disciplines, together to volunteer at local elementary schools and after school organizations in at-risk or low income neighborhoods.  More specifically, SHIP volunteers to teach third through fifth grade students about the fundamentals of health and safety, as well as coach them on how to live a healthy lifestyle. Volunteers have the opportunity to contribute to optimal health and academic outcomes for all youth by developing, coordinating, and implementing effective school health curricula. SHIP seeks to increase quality of life through the delivery of age-appropriate activities that promote healthy behaviors and instill hope for a better, brighter future for Alachua County youth. Applications for SHIP will be available until August 24th. To apply, please fill this form
