Stay Safe, Avoid Phishing Email Scams

Filed under Administrative, Information Tech on May 2, 2016.

Phishing attempts may pop into your UF inbox during this time of year, so learn what to spot. Most phishing scams seem urgent and insist on a call to action, such as an account closure unless you click a link or reply with personal information. Links inside the email may seem real, but can often be spotted as fake because of misplaced or extra numbers and letters. Visit the UF Information Security phishing site for more examples and instructions about phishing attempts. If you do identify a phishing message in your UF inbox, forward it to abuse@ufl.edu.
