QAPI: History of Queers in Asian Culture

Filed under Cultural, Events on November 23, 2015.

The Queer Asian Pacific Islanders (QAPI) Discussion Group, an exclusive group for QAPI-identified individuals, explores the distinctive intersection between race and sexuality, and provides a safe space for QAPI’s to discuss their unique experiences and learn about the pertinent issues within their community. This week’s discussion will explore the historical background of queers in various Asian cultures, and how this may have influenced perceptions of and attitudes towards queers in the Asian American community today.
