Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Peer Mentor Applications Available

Filed under Opportunities, Service on February 23, 2015.

The Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars (MFOS) program is now accepting applications to become a peer mentor for the 2015-2016 academic year.
The MFOS program is an initiative by the University of Florida to assist low-income, first-generation-in-college students who are Florida residents and will be beginning college for the first time in June or August 2015. The Peer Mentor Program is great way to gain leadership experience, and welcome new MFOS scholars to UF. All mentors are assigned approximately six incoming first-year MFOS students to mentor during their first year at UF. Peer mentors are trained and supported during the year but they are also expected to take initiative and meet the needs of their individually assigned six scholars. The due date to apply is March 11 by noon.
