APIA: Bursting the Bubble: A Resume Workshop

Filed under Internships & Career, Opportunities on January 26, 2015.

Are you getting less involved in AASU to focus on getting a job? Does your resume look like a blank sheet of paper??

If so, don’t miss this opportunity to prepare for Career Showcase (February 3-4) as Asian Pacific Islander American Affairs (APIAA), Asian American Student Union (AASU), Freshman Leadership Program (FLP), Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE), and the Career Resource Center (CRC) present:

“Bursting the Bubble”: a professional development and resume workshop is January 27 in the Institute of Black Culture (IBC) conference room. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. The event starts at 5 p.m.

The event consists of two sections:

  1. A discussion––hosted by APIA, AASU, and FLP––about “going ghost” (disappearing from the AASU community to focus on career development), what it says about the “AASU Bubble”, and the lack of recognition for those involved in it
  2. 1-on-1 resume critiques––hosted by SASE and the CRC––helping you to market AASU involvement to campus job recruiters at Career Showcase and those outside of the “Bubble”

Don’t forget to bring your resumes.
