2012 Hispanic Latino Student Assembly (HLSA)

Filed under Cultural, Events, Uncategorized on August 27, 2012.

The Hispanic Latino Student Assembly (HLSA) is an evening designed to help new and returning students get connected to the Hispanic Latino community at UF. There will be opportunities to learn about student organizations and campus resources, and gain exposure to the richness of the Latino community and culture through tabling, performances, speakers, and much more! HLSA is the first big production put on by the hosting organization, the Hispanic Student Association.

Their theme this year is “It Only Takes One.”  They want students to know that although they are in a big institution, the power of one person goes a long way.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the organization fair. See the student organization, campus department and volunteer opportunities table as they start their assembly.

Show starts at 7 p.m.  They are also very proud to announce their speaker this year will be Esai Morales. Esai Morales is of Puerto Rican descent and was born in Brooklyn, New York.
