Students Can Now Set Up Their Own RedHat Linux Platform

Filed under Administrative, Information Tech on August 22, 2012.

A “home use” license has been set up under UF’s Red Hat Enterprise Licensing Agreement.  Through this personal-use program students can obtain the current version of the Red Hat operating system and receive updates (including security patches) through the university’s Red Hat Satellite Service. Students are also eligible for tech support assistance from RedHat (support requests are submitted by the UF Computing Help Desk on the student’s behalf.)

To request your personal-use license for RedHat visit http://software.ufl.edu/agreements/redhat/ or stop by the UF Computing Help Desk, 132 HUB.
