UF, Sexual Trauma/Interpersonal Violence Education team
(STRIVE) & Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center are
teaming up to host a Take Back the Night event that includes a march
and rally to end sexual violence on Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m.

Take Back the Night’s supporters have always understood the power of
speaking out. Rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse and intimate partner
violence are often labeled “crimes of silence” because of the low
reporting rates, stigma associated with victimization and social
discomfort.

The event begins at 6 p.m. at Turlington Plaza on UF campus and will
begin marching at 6:30 p.m. Paint, posters, support will be available to
any and all that attend. After the walk, an open mic portion will
conclude the events where survivors and supporters are encouraged to
speak out on the Reitz North Lawn at 7:30 p.m.

Crisis Center at (352) 264-6760.
