Part-time Webmaster and Database Administrator Position in the Dean of Students Office

The Dean of Students Office is seeking interested candidates for a part-time Webmaster and Database Administrator position. Candidates must send a resume, cover letter, and completed application to Claire Pepper, Graduate Assistant for the Dean of Students Office, at clairep@dso.ufl.edu by April 6, 2012. Interviews for this position will begin the week of April 9, 2012. The Dean of Students part-time Webmaster and Database Administrator is responsible for:
- Creating, redesigning, and updating the Dean of Students Office website which receives tens of thousands of unique visitors per month
- Working with over full-time employees to provide content for the following program areas: Disability Resource Center, New Student and Family Programs, Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, and Dean of Students Office student organizations.
- Configuring AWStats on the new server to keep detailed statistics on site visitors
- Maintaining XHTML 1.0 Strict to make more accessible and search-engine-friendly
- Writing custom JavaScript functions to cycle through news items on home page, allowing many events to be listed at the same time
- Tracking and maintaining approximately 30 databases in FileMaker Pro11 of all the current students and alumni
- Designing and developing User Interface for the databases to allow end users to easily query information from them
Requirements for Employment
- Undergraduate students must have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Must be in good conduct standing with the University of Florida
- Willingness to make a commitment throughout the entire 2012 academic year

Preferred Skills:
- Programming language experience
- Experience working with a content management system
- PHP familiarity
- Experience in Flash or Adobe Creative Suite
- Linux navigation familiarity
- Experience working with databases
