Culture, Health and the Arts: Sub-Saharan Africa and the U.S.
DAN 4905m section 5108; AFS 4935, section 5873 MW periods 2-3

This unique course will explore Sub-Saharan African cultures and belief systems related to health and the arts. It will provide students with opportunities for interacting directly with African students, caregivers and artists via a live web-connection. This highly interactive course will include introductions to Sub-Saharan African cultures, the roles of the arts and humanities in African life and healing traditions, and the roles of the arts in healthcare in the US.
