Be a Language Assistant at the English Language Institute
The ELI has several openings for language assistants (LAs) for the program that runs from August 28 to December 15. Language assistants are undergraduate or graduate University of Florida students who work with the ELI’s listening/speaking teachers to plan informal communicative activities to reinforce the language objectives that are being taught in the Listening/ Speaking classes. LAs work with the students and also accompany students on after-class and weekend social and cultural activities in order to help them meet Americans and learn about US Culture. The job offers an excellent opportunity for students who are interested in learning about other cultures or who plan to teach English overseas. The salary is $7.48 per hour.
